Staff were very friendly and helpful booking me in and then later in the bar. Food is very good, a little more light would be great especially when you are on your own reading a book. There is a restaurant but when travelling on your own for work you sometimes prefer something less formal like the bar area to eat in. Staff were very accommodating. Rooms are tastefully decorated, modern and one I stayed in had a great view of the Forth Bridges. We had a truly perfect day. 01 October 2009  LateRooms.Com I booked this hotel for my parents as it was a gift for her 70th birthday along with a visit to the edinburgh Tattoo. Although my parents are from Wigton in Cumbria I myself am from Dunfermline and have on many occasions been to Orocco pier for meals. I have never stayed in the hotel however, so upon arrival of said parents I met them and checked out the accommodation with them. It was in a word fantastic. beautiful rooftop room with views over both the forth rail and road bridge, which considering i drive over it every day took on a new light from this view. The room was clean, fresh and well stocked with all the facilities needed for a short stay. The Staff were all exceptional, plenty of them and very attentive. Weather permitting, there is a lovely balcony for enjoying breakfast. We did hear this hotel has one room "like a cupboard" but that wasn't ours. Even if you did have that room, the other amenities would make up for it. Parking might be a bit of a problem during high season, but we found a space easily. Known as a boutique hotel, it was very well kitted out and felt new. My wife and I stayed in room 3 which is known as a petit double. An accurate description as one side of the double bed was against the wall, however, the advantage was that we had a small balcony (the only one in the hotel, I think) which looked out over the Forth and bridges. The setting from the downstairs was stunning and the stylish contemporary interior of the newly refurbished function suite was fantastic. The integrated modern lighting system they have invested in is amazing. All the staff were extremely friendly and paid huge attention to the details of our day, from the extra ivy on the pillars down to the timing the entrance of the bridal party during the ceremony to music to the very second. Nothing seemed too much for them to provide and it really made our day perfect! We have been to many weddings and the staff at Orocco Pier really did go out of their way to make it a unique and special day, with many suggestions for personalising our day in the run up to the event. The hotel itself is beautiful. Many of the rooms benefit from breathtaking views towards the Firth of forth and the two bridges. The heavy cotton sheets, scene setting lighting, the seriously well equipped mini-bar and Molton & Brown toiletries add to the feeling of luxury. The food was wonderfully tasty with a contemporary twist and extremely reasonably priced considering what was on offer, irrespective of whether you are a diner in the restaurant or a guest at a wedding. One thing to particularly mention is the cocktail called a “Honey scotch”. I can’t wait to go back there again and have it – it’s amazing. I’m now pregnant so I can’t have it just now – but I’m counting the days till we go back and have some more!!
